Vols Set to Experience “The Home of the 12th Man” at Texas A&M
Kyle Field is the only SEC stadium Tennessee has never played in.
But that’ll change Saturday when the ninth ranked Vols visit 8th ranked Texas A&M, where Tennessee will experience the rowdy home of the 12th man.
Said Vols head coach Butch Jones-“We talk to a lot of people, and they talk about how loud it is.”
A lot of people compare it to Neyland Stadium. It’s about an hour and ten minute ride to Kyle Field from the hotel you’re staying in, so that’s a challenge in and of itself.”
Said Jones-“They have a passionate fan base. I’m excited that we’ve sold all of our allotment of tickets. I believe six-thousand, and we had to refund a thousand more.”
Said quarterback Josh Dobbs-“There’s a lot less orange in the stands. There’s a lot less people cheering for you. The whole mood of the game is kind of like opposite, so you have to come out and generate your own energy and your own intensity.”
Said Jones-“When you go on the road, you are responsible for creating your own momentum. You can’t let the crowd and the clutter and the distractions creep in.”
Said defensive lineman Khalil McKenzie-“It’s a challenge for us. This week is a great challenge for us. We’re looking forward to it. Can’t wait to get down to College Station.”
