Vols Will Face Tough Big Man in Louisiana’s Jordan Brown

Since the Vols hit the Big Dance as a four seed, they’re kind of expected to win their opener since they’re facing a 13 seed in Louisiana.

Just the Vols luck though, the Rajun Cajuns feature one of the top big men in the country in 6’11 center Jordan Brown. Brown was a five star recruit, and he’s playing like a five star, averaging almost 20 points a game.

Said Vols forward Tobe Awaka:”He can manuever around you. He really doesn’t need many angles to the basket. He just sort of rises over the top of you. Hit you with that hook shot or jump shot whatever. That sort of makes it more difficult.”
Said Louisiana head coach Bob Marlin:”I think he’s as good as any inside player in this tournament. He had a great year this year. I know he’ll be the focal point. He gets doubled and triple teamed every night. But he can really score the ball. He has great foot-work. He has got a great left-hand. Right hand. He has got the total package.”

Vols and Rajun Cajuns tip at 9:40 east on Thursday on News 12.
