Volunteer Call: TN Promise Students Have 8 More Days to Volunteer

Chattanooga (WDEF) – Time is running out on college students using the TN Promise scholarships this fall.

The Governor’s plan requires you to complete 8 hours of community service before the term begins.

Your deadline to finish and submit the information is August 8th.

If your college student has procrastinated, there still is time to get it done.

Chattanooga State has the events and contacts you need for a last minute community service project.

There are still a couple of TN Promise volunteer opportunities on their list.

The Sequatchie Valley Community Kitchen needs help on Saturday.

And Junior Achievement is holding a Recycling Day on Thursday, July 30th.

They also have a list on contacts with organizations that can schedule some last minute work.

If you have any questions or need assistance making your reservation for a TN Promise volunteer event, please contact Nancy Schelin at nancy.schelin@tn.gov or 615-532-5249.

Do The Right Thing is a monthly award from WDEF & Integrity Auto Group to honor people who improve the lives of people in the Tennessee Valley through volunteering.
