Walker County firefighter dies from motorcycle accident

UPDATE (10/102024):  Christopher Lewis has passed away after being involved in a severe motorcycle accident.

Catoosa County Fire Department posted on Facebook this evening, copied from the family’s post:

With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce to that Christopher Lewis has passed away after a valiant fight.  While this is not the outcome anyone wanted, we now must rally around Taylor Sway Lewis and her son as they grieve the unimaginable.

WALKER COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Walker County Fire Rescue firefighter was involved in a severe motorcycle accident, leaving him fighting for his life.

Christopher Lewis was headed to a clinical for an AEMT class with his department October 7, 2024, when the accident occurred.

He was critically injured and had to be airlifted to Huntsville Hospital in Alabama.

Lewis is currently fighting for this life.

Lewis’s family is accepting donations here, as a way to help with medical expenses and to assist his family while he recovers.
