Wanted man leads Walker County deputies on chase, flees on foot

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – A man is on the run after officials say he led deputies on a chase through Walker County and up to the Tennessee State Line.

We spoke with neighbors who saw it all unfold.

Neighbors say it was a frightening few moments when the man sped through their neighborhood with police on his tail.

They told me that the man police were chasing sped up through this churches property, down an alley, over a neighbors fence and through that neighbors yard.

The Walker County Sheriff identified the man leading the chase as Troy Lee Evett.

People in the area expressed their concern about the high speed chase coming into a residential area.

He is the suspect in recent auto thefts.

He’s been driving a Ford Mustang with a tag that’s not his. He has no insurance and his license has been revoked for a DUI.

If you have any information about the crimes he is accused of, you are asked to call police.
