Water main break on Shallowford Road Westbound

UPDATE (12/23/2024):  The roadway has reopened.

UPDATE (12/23/2024):  The water main break at an intersection on Shallowford Road is still ongoing.

CDOT released an update stating that Tennessee American Water has located the leak to be in the southbound lane, in the middle of the intersection.

Shallowford Road will be shut down both directions by A-1 Barricade.

Eastbound traffic will be rerouted to Gillespie Rd/N. Germantown.

Westbound traffic will be rerouted to Moss St./Greenwood Rd.

Tunnel Blvd will remain open in both directions and will be down to one lane through the intersection.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Tennessee American Water is working to repair a water main break on Shallowford Road.

It’s at the corner of the 800 block of Shallowford Rd. Westbound and 700 block of Tunnel Blvd.

At this time, we don’t know what caused it.

We’re working to learn more and will keep you updated.

At this time, avoid that intersection if you can.
