Weekend stabbing suspect in custody

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A Chattanooga woman is being held on a $250,000 bond after police say she nearly killed a man with a knife.

Carlisha Anderson, 23, was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.

According to the police report, it happened Sunday night in 1100 block of Chamberlain Avenue.

Anderson and the victim were reportedly arguing over money when Anderson pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the neck.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The victim reportedly told police that he and Anderson were in some type of relationship where he he helped her pay her rent, bills and other expenses. An argument began when Anderson reportedly asked for more money and the victim reportedly said he was not giving her more money.

When she didn’t get what she asked for, Anderson reportedly used a sharp object that cut close to the victim’s jugular vein.

Anderson’s next court date is October 27.
