What’s Right With Our Schools: Dr. Ware Leads Howard
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Leadership is a vital part of any good school. Dr. LeAndrea Ware led Howard for 8 years wonderful. During that time, the school has achieved Level 5 status, and that’s just the tip of the ice burg. See for yourself in tonight’s “What’s Right With Our Schools.”
“Dr. LeAndria Ware, executive principle of The Howard School is transitioning. She has been promoted to chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chattanooga,” Dr. Leandrea Ware, Executive Principal, The Howard School said.
“Howard is my home my heart graduated of Howard class in 1990. I was here as a student. I was here as an executive director of schools and then also as the executive principal for the last eight years,” Dr. LeAndrea Ware said.
Dr. LeAndrea Ware says, “Wow, when we look back and we just think about a number of the accomplishment.”
Dr. LeAndrea Ware continues, “The work that we’ve done with our future ready Institute right here at Howard school.”
“Just last year we were able to open our very own Erlanger health clinic. We think about our graduation rate. We walked in the doors. It was 63%. The latest graduation rate for Howard high school is 96.7. For the first time ever in the history of Howard school were able to score a level five for academic growth. We were exceptionally great in terms of academic growth for students and that’s never happened before school Wide level five,” Dr. LeAndrea Ware said.
“We think about back in 2019 because of the work that we are doing here at Howard high school Bill Gates himself, walked in our doors and was astonished with the work the pride of the excellence within these walls,” Dr. LeAndrea Ware says.
We are going to miss her a lot, but she left a great legacy.
Oh no, I can’t imagine it without Dr. Ware.

It would be too many words to express the impact that Dr. LeAndrea Ware has on me.
I hate she leaving but, this little time I got with her, I enjoyed it.

Dr. LeAndrea Ware says, “They always been people to believe in the work at Howard school to believe in our students and just come along beside us to help us. It reminds me of when we won Tennessee principal of the year. And I say we because it was not just me alone it was a testament to the work that every single person show up and give 210% here every single day, just to make sure we are we are empowering our kids to soar and be the best that they can be. It’s not that I’m saying goodbye I am just simply move to a different seat of the table so that I can expand my reach of touching more students within our community all across Hamilton County.”
