What’s Right With Our Schools: Heritage Middle Teacher Appreciation Week

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA (WDEF) – It’s always a good idea to let teachers know just how much you appreciate them. The good folks at Heritage Middle School have put a new spin on the time-honored tradition of teacher appreciation week.

Melissa Travillian is the Principal at Heritage Middle.

She says, ” Our academic coach came up with a wonderful idea to do the Survivor game for a teacher appreciation week. And we have the most amazing teachers and staff in Catoosa County. So, we just wanted to  take this chance to recognize them and do something special. So I think they’re having a lot of fun this week with it.

Sherri Womack is the academic coach at Heritage Middle.

She says, “We have had amazing parents who have given um gift cards for this game. It has been so much fun. We’ve had businesses that we’ve reached out to, who have given so many um items for us to raffle off. It’s been a great time for the community to come together and give prizes for us. So this has been awesome.”

Logan Lollis is the Assistant Principal at Heritage Middle.

He says, ” We have teachers uh with big hearts, and so, to be able to share that with other people has been great. And I think it’s just kind of helped the whole morale of the staff so.”
