What’s Trending? FBI Hacks iPhone, Billy Dee Returns, & Deleted Batman v. Superman Scene

The FBI says it has hacked into the iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters and it did it without Apple’s help. Now that it has gotten what it wants from the device, the Feds have asked a judge to vacate the order that forced Apple to help the FBI crack the code for the smartphone. The court filing doesn’t explain how the FBI was able to hack the phone – or who helped it to do so.

Fans of Instagram win a battle to keep changes to the photo-sharing social network at bay. The company previously announced plans to change the look of user’s news feeds. It would arrange photos according to what they think is most interesting to the user. Vocal celebrity instagrammers convinced Instagram to delay that change.

Pabst is bringing back Billy Dee Williams to promote its Colt 45 malt liquor. The “Empire Strikes Back” actor was the face of Colt 45 back in the 1980’s. A teaser ad featuring Williams is now on Youtube. It features the actor in clips from his 80s ads, as well as today. Williams is now 78.

Preorders for the home video release of “Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice” went live Monday, even though the film just opened over the weekend. Warner Brothers hopes to boost early orders by teasing the home video release. A deleted scene featuring Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor has been posted online that shows Luthor interacting with a previously unseen alien creature. The scene will be a part of the R-rated director’s cut of the movie which will be released on blu-ray later this year.

The long awaited Flash crossover on Supergirl happened last night. Flash apparently ran so fast, he ended up in an alternate universe. That explains why no one ever talks about Batman or Superman on these shows. Show runners hope Flash can give Supergirl a boost in the ratings. CBS released a list of shows renewed for next season Monday and Supergirl was not on the current list.
