(WDEF) – New Year’s Day is traditionally a time people choose to take down their Christmas decorations to begin the new year.

But a new poll finds that Americans are more understanding on the proper “end” date.

The neighborhood network, Nextdoor, polled Americans on when is the right time to put them away.

And almost a third said we still have two weeks of holiday grace period.

In fact, many think we should keep them up all year long.

Here are the results:

When should neighbors take down holiday decorations like outdoor Christmas lights and those beloved holiday inflatables?

a.) January 1st (time to start the new year!) 19%

b.) January 3rd (need a few days) 33%

c.) January 15th (it’s not New Year’s until President’s Day in my book!) 27%

d.) Never – keep it up all year! 21%
