Whitfield County Deputies Investigating Double Homicide

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two homicides from early Thursday morning.

Sheriff Scott Chitwood says deputies found two women dead at 234 Tanglewood Drive, after getting a 911 call from Michael Townsend.

According to investigators, the victims had blunt force trauma injuries to their face, and suspected stab wounds to their body.

Chitwood says they’ve detained Townsend, who they’re calling a suspect.
