Whitfield County student charged with setting off a Taser on a bus

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Whitfield County deputies have arrested a student at Phoenix High School saying he discharged a Taser on the bus.

The incident happened Monday afternoon and it was caught on the bus video recording system.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports that it shows the 17 year old talking about the Taser, reaches into a bookbag and setting it off.

A student told school officials about what happened after the bus arrived at Northwest Whitfield.

The teen faces a charge of carrying a weapon in a school safety zone.
