Whitfield deputy chases another stolen car suspect down I 75
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Officials say a car theft in Rossville last weekend led to a high speed chase Thursday down I 75.
A Whitfield County deputy was on the interstate around 4PM when his license plate reader picked up a stolen vehicle.
When he got behind the vehicle and hit his blue lights, the driver ran.
The deputy reported the fleeing vehicle hit speeds of 120 mph as he passed other vehicle in the emergency lane.
Georgia troopers managed to use a PIT maneuver to stop the car at the south end of Gordon County.
38 year old Christopher Snay of Tellico, Tennessee was driving.
Officers also took the passenger, 36 year old April Dawn Roach, into custody.
The car was stolen in Rossville on Saturday.
A Hixson woman left the motor running as she ran into a Mapco.
When she came back, the car was gone.
Both Snay and Roach face charges of theft by receiving stolen property.
Earlier on Thursday, Walker County deputies were investigating another chase where the victim followed suspects who took a pickup.
They ended up shooting at him.
