Whitfield Deputy Fatally Shoots Suspect After Car Chase

The chase ended around noon at the intersection of Maddox Mill road and Highway 52.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports that four officers were chasing a suspected stolen car.

Witnesses tell us that the chase ended when deputies managed to blow out the tires and the car ended up in a ditch.

The witness says the driver then gunned the vehicle and headed for one of the officers.

That officer then opened fire, killing the driver.

Officials have not released the identity of the suspect yet.
