Whitfield investigators charge man with sexual assault at a home

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – An adult female has accused a relative of sexual assault in north Georgia.

The incident happened at a home on Wooten Drive in Whitfield County.

She tells investigators that after spending the night with family members, she woke up in the early morning hours to find a relative trying to have sex with her.

The suspect was picked up and questioned.

Investigators say they also found a drug pipe with meth residue in a bag belonging to him.

The charged 33 year old Jose Carmelo Mendoza-Gonzalez Criminal Attempt to Commit Rape, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime.
