Whitfield Magistrate under investigation resigns

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Whitfield County Magistrate Judge Shana Vinyard has resigned.

She has been on “voluntary paid leave” since October of 2018.

Vinyard has been drawing her yearly salary of $52-thousand dollars.

She has been under investigation by the state’s Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Her resignation was submitted to Governor Brian Kemp and it was accepted.

Vinyard’s successor will be appointed by the Chief magistrate.

She has been under investigation by state officials for the past few weeks.
