Wings Over North Georgia Returns

ROME, GA. (WDEF) – The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show returns to Russell Regional Airport this weekend, expanding to a three-day event filled with aerial stunts, live music, and fireworks.

For the first time, the show kicks off Friday afternoon, with gates opening at 2 p.m.

The evening will feature a twilight flying lineup, a drone show debut, and live music from the Kurt Thomas Band before ending with a fireworks finale.

Saturday and Sunday will bring a full schedule of performances from the Chuters Parachute Team, Redline Airshows, the 94th Airlift Wing’s C-130 demonstration, the U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III team, and several vintage aircraft, including the B-25 “Panchito,” F4U Corsair, and P-51 Mustang.

However, one of the show’s biggest acts, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, may not perform this year due to the ongoing government shutdown, which has impacted some military flight operations.

Event officials say all other performances and activities will continue as planned.

The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show runs through Sunday at Russell Regional Airport in Rome, offering fans a weekend of high-flying excitement and family fun.
