Winners & Loser in the Final Georgia Beer & Whiskey Vote

Atlanta, GA (WDEF) – The bill that finally passed the Georgia legislature last night on alcohol sales had some winners and losers.

Craft breweries are the obvious winners.

The bill will let them sell their products directly to customers for off-premises consumption.

You will be able to buy up to 72 ounces, or a six pack, to go.

And the legislation also approves brewery tours with free samples.

The other winners are distilleries, which were included in the bill.

The losers are Brew Pubs.

They were stripped out of the final version.

The booze bill passed in the last hour of the session late last night.

It now goes to the Governor.
