Woman arrested for allegedly shooting, killing grandmother

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) – A 22-year-old woman is in custody in Macon County, Alabama, after the shooting death of her 58-year-old grandmother.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a call Saturday off County Road 67 and found the victim dead from a single gunshot wound. WSFA-TV reports deputies said it appears the victim was with her granddaughter, in a car in front of her home preparing to leave for a funeral when an altercation started. The granddaughter allegedly shot the grandmother during the altercation.

The sheriff’s office arrested and charged the granddaughter with murder.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
