Woman Arrested for 2023 Murder

JACKSON COUNTY — A woman has been arrested for a 2023 murder in Jackson County.

Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen says 23-year-old Johneil Stead of Gadsden, Alabama was arrested Christmas morning.

Sheriff Harnen says Stead is charged with first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection to a murder in Langston.

The sheriff says that a body was found floating in a body of water by a fisherman wrapped in a bag of plastic.
