Woman charged with living in Georgia but getting TennCare
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The latest TennCare fraud case comes from the Tennessee/Georgia border.
39 year old Desha Majors was arrested at her new home in Morristown.
But District Attorney General Neal Pinkston says she was living in Ringgold when she signed up for TennCare.
She has been indicted with TennCare fraud and theft of property over $10,000.
Prosecutors say she falsely reported her residency when she applied.
“It is a crime to receive TennCare benefits while living in another state, as TennCare benefits are reserved for Tennesseans,” Inspector General Kim Harmon said.
She faces up to four & six years for the pair of charges, if she is convicted.
