Woman Charged with Aggravated Arson Following Apartment Fire

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — A woman has been charged with aggravated arson after an apartment fire on January 4.

Officers responded to 25 South Germantown Road around 7:30 p.m. after a report of an apartment fire.

Upon arrival, officers noticed smoke coming from the door.

Lisa Shirley, the occupant of the apartment refused to let officials inside, which prompted firefighters to forcibly enter.

After being detained, Shirley repeatedly denied that there was a fire in her apartment.

Shirley also has a history of setting fires, an affidavit says.

She is charged with aggravated arson.
