Woman involved in controversial police shooting dies
ROSSVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – A Walker county woman, who was involved in a domestic violence case last summer , has died.
Sixty six year old Dorothy Gass told deputies last August that her daughter-in-law, Amy, was going to kill her children and then kill herself.
When they responded to the home, deputies say her father, Mark Parkinson was holding a hand gun.
He was shot and killed when he pointed it at the officers. The GBI’s investigation later found no evidence that Amy Gass had threatened her children or herself.
Dorothy Gass was charged with one misdemeanor count of false report of a crime, which was later dropped.
Dorothy Gass died on November 1st.
