Woman shot in the face while driving in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A woman is fighting for her life at a Chattanooga hospital after she was shot in the face while driving.

According to an initial report released by Chattanooga Police, the incident happened Saturday night in the 2500 block of O’Rear Street.

According to investigators, the woman was driving when her vehicle was hit by gunfire. She lost control of the vehicle and crashed on O’Rear Street. According to police, the driver sustained a life-threatening gunshot injury to her face. She was last listed in critical condition.

A juvenile who was also inside the vehicle was not injured during the shooting but was taken to a local hospital for observation.

So far, there is no suspect information to report.
