Women attempt to smuggle drugs into Bradley Jail with Straws

“This is a totally weird situation.”

The Bradley county Sheriff’s office arrested 3 females.

They are accused of trying to smuggle drugs inside the jail to a male inmate…

But that is not what makes the story so interesting.

It’s how investigators say they were attempting to do it with string and straws.

The straws were packed full of contraband and the string lead directly into the cell…

“Putting xanaxs, hydrocodones and marijuana and they also had matches and some tobacco inside the straws.”

The strings went up a cell on the second near the visitors entrance at the prison.

Officials say the women were trying to push the items up the string.
Deputies responded to one of them jumping to pull the string down before the drugs could enter the building.

“She done a great job she jumped up and grabbed those straws before they could make it into the facility.”

The Sheriff’s office does believe that this type of smuggling has been attempted before at the jail.

“I believe that this has been tried before with straws during a previous administration, but this is the first time that we actually caught them red handed doing it.”

To anyone thinking of attempting something like this in the future the Sheriff’s office has a message for you….

“You come messing around in our backyard we have plenty of room inside that jail.”
