Women involved in April police chase now face burglary charges

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The three women involved in a high-speed chase in April now face several more charges for burglary, according to the sheriff’s office. They said more than $16,000 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered.

Hamilton County authorities also said one of the suspects has not been arrested yet. Miyosha Flowers has several active warrants for her arrest.

Deputies found several large bags of merchandise, which still had sale tags and anti-theft devices on them inside the car during the original arrest. They said the women could not provide proof they purchased the merchandise.

On May 2, Hamilton County detectives learned many of the items were stolen from a Kohl’s department store. $6,000 worth of items were stolen from two Kohl’s stores in Hamilton County, and $9,000 worth of items were stolen from a Kohl’s in Douglasville, Georgia.

In addition, the sheriff’s office said $1,300 worth of items were stolen from a Target, and $300 worth of items were stolen from the Burlington Store on Highway 153.

On May 8, HCSO announced all three women now face these additional charges:

  • Theft of property over $2,500 (x2)
  • Burglary (x3)
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Criminal conspiracy
  • Theft of property over $1,000 (x2)

“Whether in this county or traveling through, the HCSO will not tolerate individuals who commit crimes and flee from law enforcement. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Early Monday morning, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies engaged in a high-speed chase with two females after attempting a traffic stop.

According to HCSO reports, the vehicle fled law enforcement in Catoosa County.

The pursuit went through I-75 Northbound.

The suspect reached speeds above 100 miles per hour.

Spike strips were deployed, which stopped the vehicle just off of exit 11 near Ooltewah.

Driver, Samaiyah Ray faces multiple charges including reckless driving and resisting arrest:

  • Resisting Arrest
  • Seatbelt Law
  • Driving on a Suspended License

Passenger, Angelique Grant is charged with possession of marijuana (5g).

Both suspects were taken to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
