YMCA consolidates preschool program
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- One of the Chattanooga YMCA’s preschool centers will be closing at the end of the year.
The Y has announced that the Early Learning Language Immersion Center in Highland Park is closing.
They say the lease for the building is expiring soon and pandemic-era funding is ending.
However, they say all staff will be retained and relocated to their two other preschool locations at the downtown Y and St. Paul’s Church.
All students will be able to transfer to these locations as well.
John Donahoo, the district vice president with the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga, said, “We understand how important stability is for our families, especially during transitions. We have provided spots at the new locations to retain all of our dedicated staff, ensuring that children maintain the vital connections with the teachers they know and trust. Our focus remains on delivering a safe, engaging and enriching environment for every child.”
They say that the dual language curriculum will also transfer to these locations as well.
There will be no change in fees, and this change will go into affect in January.
