Young woman charged with shooting another woman in a fight

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have charged a suspect in the shooting of a young woman Wednesday evening.

The 26 year old victim arrived at the hospital before 6 PM with a non life threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators learned she had been in a fight with another person in the 1800 block of East 23rd Street.

They say 21 year old Afrika Jackson pulled a gun and began shooting.

Police have charged Jackson with Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
