Youth and Family Development Hosts Community Homecoming

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Shepherd Youth and Family Development Center and the Shepherd Community Action Council will sponsor a community homecoming and bridge completion celebration today from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. The kick-off parade featuring the Tyner High Academy Band will begin at the Shepherd Park and Tuskegee Boulevard and proceed to Fisk Avenue and Shepherd Road, then over the bridge to the Shepherd Center, located at 2124 East Shepherd Road.

Community members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and line-up on the new sidewalk on the bridge, as well as in front of Highland Cemetery.

A brief program will take place in the gymnasium where former 2016 Little Mr. and Little Miss Shepherd contestants will be presented.

This event is free and open to the public. Parking will be available at the vacant lot across from Highland Cemetery or the lot of Metropolitan Tabernacle Church.
