1 dead 2 critically injured in Wilson County LifeFlight crash
WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Authorities say a Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopter crashed in a rural area of Wilson County near Cairo Bend Road.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s office says they are working in conjunction with other agencies at the scene.
Vanderbilt LifeFlight confirmed that there were three crew members on board.
One person was killed, and two others were taken to Vanderbilt Hospital with critical injuries.
There was no patient onboard the flight.
The helicopter was reportedly just a few miles south of the Gallatin Airport at the time of the crash.
The NTSB is handling the investigation into the circumstances and cause of the crash.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
