Chattanooga Police connect man shot in abdomen with abandoned car
(WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have connected a man shot in the abdomen with a crash that occurred on Brainerd road early this morning.
Chattanooga Police responded to the 3600 block of Brainerd road around three a.m. on multiple reports of shots fired. When they arrived, police located an unoccupied vehicle which had crashed into the gas pumps at the Kankus located at 3604 Brainerd road.
A short time after the shots fired calls came in, David Franklin, 26, arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
After a through investigation, Chattanooga Police were able to connect the man to the crime scene and obtained warrants for the arrest of a suspect.
Police are looking for Darius Harris, 20, in connection to the crime. Charges include:
- Attempted 1st Degree Murder
- Felony Reckless Endangerment
- Felony Reckless Driving
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Possession of Drugs for Resale (Heroin/Meth)
