Mother of abandoned suburban Atlanta newborn located

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) – Police say a teenage mother has been located after a newborn was left outside a dental office in suburban Atlanta.

Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith tells local news media that the infant boy was found in good condition around 5 a.m. Sunday at a dental office near Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Police say a man a man placed a call from a store about mile away from the office and told authorities where the baby could be located.

Smith says the mother is being treated at a medical facility. Smith says the infant was likely born between 2 and 3 a.m.

No charges have been filed yet.

The Division of Family and Children Services will determine whether or not the infant will return to his mother.
