18 wheeler crashes into First Baptist Church in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – An 18 wheeler ran into the First Baptist Church Monday morning.

The wreck happened on Gateway Avenue.

Chattanooga Police report that the truck was being loaded, when the brakes failed and it rolled into the church.

There was a minor injury from the wreck.

The Fire Department reports that the crash may have caused structural damage to the church.

A building inspector has been called in to assess the damage to the building.
