18 year old facing several charges, accused of kidnapping, carjacking woman in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – 18 year old Gordon Ray is behind bars facing a aggravated kidnapping, carjacking, sexual battery and aggravated robbery charge.
Ray’s arrest affidavit says that around 5 am Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital to speak with the victim.
The victim told police that the incident happened on West 38th Street around midnight. She told police that she was standing near her car when 4 males approached her.
She says they forced her to get into her car, at gun point, and told her to take them to Wheeler Homes.
She told police she complied out of “fear of being shot.”
The report says that one of them later told her to drive to Mystik Gas Station on Rossville Blvd.
One of the males took her keys and 3 of the men went into the gas station, according to the report.
She told police that one male that stayed with her in the vehicle.
The report says that, after leaving the store, she stopped the car near 1880 E. 34th Street. She told police that was when one of the males took her keys again, before hitting her in the face and dragging her out of the car.
She told police while the suspects dragged her out of the car, they “intentionally pulled her pants and panties down,” leaving her naked from the waist down.
That’s when she says they began to pour oil on the vehicle and attempted to set it on fire with her still in it, according to the arrest affidavit.
She reported her social security, food stamp, and debit card stolen, as well as her cell phone, about $20 in cash stolen from her.
She told police the suspects fled the scene and that’s when she says she went to Eastlake Courts to get help.
Investigators were able to get video from the location on Rossville video where the victim says they stopped. Police say it shows multiple suspects getting out of the victim’s car, before entering the store.
One of the suspects was identified as Gordon Ray and the victim was able to identify him as one of the men involved.
Officers went to an address on Jeffery Lane in an attempt to locate Ray. They were told he wasn’t there. They located Ray a short time later in the area.
Police say he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
