19-year old charged with attempted first degree murder
Darrius Harris, 19, of Chattanooga aka "Deedy Weedy" was arrested Monday after noon in connection to a drive-by shooting that sent one person to the hospital.
According to the arrest affidavit, the shooting occurred in the 200 block of West 38th Street on the night of New years Eve 2014.
Two men identified as Dartangan Rollins and Nathan Odum told investigators they were walking through an alley when they heard up to six gunshots. One of the bullets struck Rollins in the lower leg.
Once Rollins was taken by EMS to Erlanger, he told investigators the gunshots came from a vehicle. During the interview with police, Odum stated the shots came "Deedy Weedy."
Police were shown a picture of "Deedy Weedy" whom they learned was really Darrius Harris.
Investigators later identified Harris as a known member of the 52 Hoover Crips gang
Charges against Harris include:
- Attempted first degree murder
- Aggravated assault
- Reckless endangerment(two counts)
- Illegal possession of a firearm
His bond was was set $210,000 and his next court date is April 14.
