Ceremony Held for Fallen Towing Operators
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga residents are remembering tow truck operators killed in the line of duty.
On Saturday morning, the International Towing & Recovery Museum hosted a special ceremony to add 22 new names to the Wall of the Fallen. It was built 10 years ago.
Friends and family members of the fallen first responders came from across the country for the event.
Area leaders also on hand tell News 12 honoring these heroes is part of the healing process.
“Anytime anybody gives of their life and pays the ultimate sacrifice in the line of their job, I think it’s really important to come out and show support to the families, although the overwhelming majority of these families are from out of town,” said Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger.
414 names have been added to the wall since it was built in 2006.
