2 arrests on Sand Mountain for string of burglaries

SCOTTSBORO, Alabama (WDEF) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two suspects in a string of burglaries on Sand Mountain in September.

They ranged from Rosalie to Section.

The burglars targeted gas stations and convenience stores.

Investigators determined from security video that they were looking for the same suspects in each case.

So they set up some stake outs.

Early Thursday morning, officers spotted a rental car pull behind the Triple T Mini Mart in Section.

They found 28 year old Justin Lamont Erskine from Huntsville and 26 year old Joshua Lamar Crowell from Madison in the car.

They also found burglary tools.

The sheriff says the pair are also suspects in more burglaries in Scottsboro.
