Gas Issues Cause Headache for East Tenn. Drivers

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — Many drivers across the Southeast are struggling to fill up their gas tanks, after a recent gas line spill near Birmingham.

The Tennessee Valley is no exception.

Because of the supply delay, many stations in the area are out of gas, or they only have premium and diesel.

Despite the headache, area first responders tell News 12 they’re still prepared.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. John Harmon says state troopers were told to keep their cars full at all times.

Harmon says they, of course, always want to be available to respond to calls.

Governor Bill Haslam issued a State of Emergency for Tennessee on Friday because of the gas spill.
