The Women Fund of Greater Chattanooga Hosts annual Voices Luncheon
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to bring light to an issue that affects our community in a staggering way, The Women Fund of Greater Chattanooga hosted the 4th annual Voices Luncheon at Stratton Hall.
This was the scene as several speakers spoke in front of hundreds of people about violence against women, equal pay for women and overall equality.
We asked one speaker about the buggest problem women face in the Chattanooga area.
Emily O’ Donnell a local volunteer said,”I think violence women is one of the biggest because it covers so many different areas from campus sexual assault to domestic violence, even gang related violence affects women in our communities so that is the issue that we’re taking on currently as the most important one.”
The event was also a fundraiser to help pay for programs that support women who are victims of violence.
