Colonial Pipeline Shuts Down Pipeline Again Following Massive Explosion

We could be dealing with another interruption in our gas supply.

Colonial Pipeline shut down its main pipeline in Alabama again, this time, following an explosion.

Authorities say one person died and several other workers sustained injuries when the line burst… about a mile west of the spot where a massive leak caused a shutdown in September.

The Georgia-based company issued a brief statement saying its top priorities are the health and safety of its work crews at the scene and protecting the public.

Governor Robert Bentley says ” what will happen is we will have to let the fuel burn, I’m not sure which type of fuel because we don’t know which pipeline it was.”

There’s no immediate indication of a connection between September’s leak and this fire.

During the 12-day shutdown, Triple-A says state average gasoline prices rose 17-cents in Tennessee and 28-cents in Georgia.
