3 arrested after late night pursuit, Sheriff’s Office says

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says 3 people have been arrested after a late night pursuit on Signal Mountain Road.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy saw a maroon Mustang driving erratically and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled.

The Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit took deputies down Highway 153 to Dayton Pike and along other roads at “excessive speeds.”

When the pursuit continued on Dallas Hollow Road, the Sheriff’s Office says two passengers began throwing things out the windows including boxes and a suitcase.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Mustang lost control in the 7400 block of Hixson Pike and crashed.

Deputies were able to arrest the driver, Keoshia Starling, and the two passengers, Kanisha Davis and Kamesha Jones.

In the vehicle, deputies say they found merchandise with anti-theft devices still attached. The Sheriff’s Office determined these items were from the Signal Mountain Walmart and the three women had stolen them after a “push out”.

The Sheriff’s Office describes a “push out” as loading a cart full of expensive merchandise and then exiting through a fire escape past all points of sale.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Starling had outstanding warrants for Criminal Trespass and six counts of Theft from similar thefts. The Sheriff’s Office says Starling is now also charged with  Reckless Driving, Felony Reckless Endangerment, four counts Felony Aggravated assault, and Aggravated Assault on Police.

The Sheriff’s Office says Davis and Jones were arrested and each charged with Aggravated Assault on Police, Tampering with Evidence, and Felony Evading Arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking businesses to come forward who may have experienced similar “push out” related incidents or believe these three suspects may have stolen from their business.
