3 arrested over guns and chainsaws recovered on Sand Mountain

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – A Sheriff says that a traffic stop on Sand Mountain ended with the recovery of stolen guns and chainsaws.

The stop happened last week in the Sylvania community.

26 year old Justin Wade Bass from Henagar was arrested on felony warrants.

The DeKalb County Sheriff says the first search of the vehicle turned up a stolen gun from a burglary in Scottsboro.

That led investigators to 32 year old William Charles Sparks, who they arrested the next day in Valley Head.

During that arrest, they say they found more stolen guns and chainsaws from the same burglary in Scottsboro.

Investigators also charged 31 year old James Christopher Arsenault of Valley Head for other felony warrants.

Sheriff Welden says “We would like to thank Rainsville, Sylvania and Powell Police Department for their assistance during the investigation.  With the arrest of these three individuals, we were able to close two Burglary and Theft cases from DeKalb County during the investigation.”
