UPDATE: 5 people transported for treatment after crash on SR 111

DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Dunlap Fire Department has updated their facebook post.

They said a total of five people, three adults and two children, have been taken to hospitals.


Three people were sent to the hospital after an SUV crashed on State Route 111 Monday morning.

According to a Dunlap Fire Department Facebook post, the crash happened near the top of Cagle Mountain.

Fire officials said they when they arrived on the scene the vehicle was found 40 feet over the embankment from the highway.

They said firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools and removed the vehicle’s roof to rescue three people trapped in the SUV.

The occupants were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The crash is under investigation.
