4 year old seriously injured in Dalton crash

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A father accidentally ran over his son Monday night in Dalton at a car wash.

It happened at the Goo Goo Car Wash on North Glenwood around 5:20 PM.

24 year old Jalen Story was vaccuming his car out while his four year old son was out walking around.

The father told police that he got back in the car to move it up, but his foot got wedged on the acceleration pedal.

The car jumped forward and over a concrete block.

It hit his son, pinning him against a steel support beam for the building.

The boy suffered broken bones and a cut to his leg.

He was taken to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton and then flown to Chattanooga.

Police are still investigating the case, but no charges have been filed.
