5th grader accused of trying to give 1st grader a swirly, charged with assault
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (CBS46) – An 11-year-old girl has been charged with aggravated assault after being accused of trying to give a 6-year-old girl a swirly.
That’s according to a report from our sister station, CBS 46, in Atlanta.
The alleged incident occurred at Oakland Elementary School in Henry County, which is southeast of Atlanta.
According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, the 11-year-old lured the 6-year-old into a restroom, grabbed her by the neck, pulled her into a stall and tried to force her head into a toilet.
The 6-year-old’s head hit the toilet several times, which caused visible injuries, according to police.
Police say the 6-year-old was eventually able to crawl under the stall and get to a nearby teacher who heard the commotion.
In addition to being charged as a juvenile with aggravated assault, the 11-year-old was also charged with false imprisonment and battery. She was put in juvenile custody.
