First Graduate from Zion College turns 100, family honors her

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A family celebrated 100 years of life today, honoring Wilma Saddler Scruggs.

She was the first graduate from Zion College that later merged with UTC in 1969.

Wilma Scruggs then served on the Chancellors Roundtable for UTC.

She is also the Aunt of Booker T. Scruggs who died earlier this year.

They have a party this big every 10 years.

Scruggs had been present at her birthday celebrations, so they played a Clarinet selection in his memory.
