Soddy Daisy High teacher responds to rumors about his resignation

SODDY-DAISY, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Soddy-Daisy teacher is responding to rumors surrounding his abrupt resignation from the High School.

The school announced his resignation to students on Thursday.

He had been on leave for much of the fall while being investigated by the school system for unspecified reasons.

Here is his statement:

“In response to inquiries about my recent suspension and resignation from Hamilton County Schools: It is true that as a single man, I was on a dating website. However, the accusations made against me are false and defamatory. Because I have long been planning a change of careers, and since I do not want these unfounded accusations to negatively impact a great school and its faculty and student body, I resigned from my position. I wish everyone continued success.”

Two years ago, Skiles resigned as head coach of the softball team to spend more time with his family.

Soddy Daisy High has been under a microscope since the “blame the girls” video post by vice principal Jared Hensley.
