Candidate Karl Dean is happy about early voting surge in Tennessee

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Karl Dean brought his campaign for Governor of Tennessee to Chattanooga this morning.

Dean says he is happy with the early voting numbers he’s seen so far and hopes everyone who hasn’t voted yet will get to the polls.

“It makes me feel good for a lot of reasons.  I think a lot of new people are voting.. a lot of people who haven’t participated in recent years the mid terms are voting. I think it will be good for the democratic party.  It also is encouraging for the state of Tennessee.  In 2016 we were 50th for voter presentation and I think that needed to improve and we are seeing improvement and that is a good thing.”

Dean, who is challenging GOP Bill Lee, says the record early numbers AT the polls will be great for the state of Tennessee.
