Lawyer charged with fraud over fantasy football investment scheme

ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF) – A former attorney faces wire and tax fraud charges from a fantasy football lottery scheme.

Prosecutors says 53 year old Timothy Cobb of Atlanta promised investors he would set up the fantasy league through the Georgia Lottery.

He got half a million dollars and set up Skyboxx Sports, LLC.

But they say instead of the lottery league, he spent the money on trips to Mexico City and Barbados and ate out in New York, Atlanta, and Miami Beach.

And then he filed income taxes covering up the expenditures.

Cobb was arraigned on Tuesday in Atlanta.
